Why Rhode Islanders Buy Timeshares in Florida -- and Vice Versa!

It's all about the destination

Florida is one of the top-ten timeshare destinations in the world, and while many of those owners come from overseas, the largest portion of Florida timeshare owners live elsewhere in the United States. Rhode Islanders are known for their staunch independence and local pride, but that doesn't mean that they don't enjoy trading the cold New England winters for warm Florida beaches every now and then. That's why many Rhode Islanders purchase timeshare in Florida.

It's a great place to visit during the spring, winter and fall when New England temperatures are still cold. Everyone can use that pick-me-up that only a warm sunny day can provide, and many Rhode Islanders travel to Florida simply to be reminded of that warmth to come. Finding a timeshare in Florida is easy, as there are hundreds of these vacation properties available.

Vacationers traveling with children are likely to look for Orlando timeshares so that they may frequent the many theme parks and family-friendly attractions that the area is so famous for. Rhode Island residents looking for a more quiet and secluded Florida timeshare might look for a vacation property in the Keys. It's really a matter of preference, but one of the best things about timeshares is that you don't have to choose just one location. When used correctly (generally in conjunction with exchange companies or vacation clubs) owners can trade their time at any given resort for time at nearly any other resort. With so many options, it is no surprise that New Englanders enjoy their Florida vacations.

However, you may be surprised to learn that many Floridians buy Rhode Island timeshare, too. Summer in Florida is hot, very hot. The air is humid and even the Atlantic waters are warm. Floridians visit Rhode Island to get a breath of fresh air, crisp New England air. They come to visit the quaint coastal towns and explore the ancient architecture. They come for the history, and classic styling that Rhode Island does best. They come to get away from it all.

And with 400 miles of scenic coastline and more than 100 public beaches, Rhode Island boasts seaside vacation opportunities abound, for the even the most jaded beachgoer. That's because beaches in Rhode Island are different. Rhode Island's beaches are clean, unspoiled and sparsely

populated compared with the thousands of vacationers peppering Florida beaches on any given day. Summer in Rhode Island also means lots of camping, hiking, boating and kayaking for the outdoor adventurer.

Winter in Florida (especially in family-friendly vacation hot-spots like Orlando and Kissimmee) is often filled with tourists. Floridians are generally welcoming, but it's hard not to feel a bit overwhelmed by the massive influx of hurried families, desperately rushing to get to the closest theme park or dinner show. Which is why many Florida natives travel to Rhode Island in the winter. When they get there they'll find Rhode Island's hectic tourist season over. They can enjoy solitude on the beaches and cliffs by day, and then by night enjoy Rhode Island's vibrant arts, entertainment, and dining scenes.

Nearby New England offers excellent winter sports opportunities like skiing, boarding and snowshoeing. In fact, mountainside timeshare sales in New England are some of the most popular vacation properties you can find. Imagine spending the holidays with your family in a slope-side ski-in/ski-out chalet. You can spend the days out on the mountains and the nights by a flickering fireplace.

Most Floridians are not as adverse to driving as most Rhode Islanders, so they find Rhode Island an affordable home base for day trips into Boston, New York, or even into the mountains.

Whether you live in Florida and you're looking to get a taste of New England culture annually or biennially, or you live in Rhode Island and you'd like to secure that warm, sun-on-your-face feeling for years to come, you can save thousands on your purchase when you buy a resale timeshare. - -
