Cafe Dianna doesn't have a printed menu. Check the chalk board because their selection of gormet food is constantly changing and constantly exciting.
My light dinner started with a cream of tomato soup, with pieces of crushed tomatoes -- not sweet
like canned condensed soups, and not overwhelmed by cream or milk. Then came a roasted
chicken breast topped with a fresh picante, almost a pico de gallo, with a touch of celantro, and
without a hint of hot peppers. Black bean salad made a great side dish for the chicken, with
its crispness and perfect lime taste.
One of the neat things about Cafe Dianna is that it's not actually a restaurant -- you can
eat there if you'd like, and the setting is like an upscale cafe, but they're actually geared
toward take-out. Consider this -- pop in, gather the makings of a true gormet meal, and then
serve foods that would take hours to prepare and years to master.
Or just drop in for a nice lunch or dinner, a comfortable meal with great food.
Cafe Dianna is at 1864 Broad Street in Cranston, Rhode Island. Phone 783-5336. They're open
Tuesday through Saturday, 10AM to 8PM. They carry special vegetarian dishes along with soups,
sandwiches, and salads.
