Cosmopolitian cities, quaint villages, and an area steeped in history

Northeast United States is perhaps the busiest portion of the country for tourism.  Its major cities, among them New York City, Boston, Philidelphia. attact business, are centers of art, business, and culture.   The cities offer their own attactions for tourism, but their large populations have also driven tourism in the rest of the region, including mountain and seaside getaways like the Berkshires, Newport, Cape Cod, and the White Mountains.

The northeastern portion of the US includes the five states of New England (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut), and the mid-Atlantic states of New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.   Major airports, interstate freeways, and the Amtrack trains provide easy access throughout the region.

The climate approximates that of Europe, with snow-filled winters and summers rarely above 100 F.   This region is renowned for its colorful autumns, winter skiiing, and summer seashores.
