Inspired partly by Mamet’s stint as a typist in a Chicagoreal estate office during the late 1960s, Glengarry Glen Ross is a scalding comedy-drama, driven by the playwright’strademark staccato and profanity-laced dialogue. Camalot In The Blitz
Trinity Rep kicks off its 2010-2011 Season on September 10th with Camelot, Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe’s musical masterpiece. Based on T.H. White’s “The Once and Future King,” Camelot is an epic retelling of the legend of King Arthur and his quest to create a legacy through governance – trying to shape his nation’s laws, presided over by the knights of his round table. Artistic Director Curt Columbus has set his rendition of this classic in a World War II-era London tube stop during Hitler’s blitz on the city, placing the lofty ideals and intrigue of Arthurian Camelot into an interesting political context. The show opens in previews on September 10 and runs through October 10 in the Chace Theater. Tickets are on sale now at the Trinity Rep box office, 201 Washington St.; by phone at (401) 351-4242; and online at www.trinityrep.com.
