Renaissance Providence Hotel Receives 2008 Hotel Of The Year Award
Marriott International Presented The Award At Annual Ceremony

The Renaissance Providence Hotel, an upscale, full-service hotel affiliated with the Marriott portfolio of branded luxury hotels, has been awarded Marriott International’s honor of 2008 Franchised Hotel of the Year. The award recognizes one hotel that exemplifies outstanding performance throughout its operations.

“This accomplishment is an incredible testament to the hard work and dedication our talented staff bring to the table each and every day and to the leadership of Sage Hospitality Resources,” said Angelo DePeri, general manager for the Renaissance Providence Hotel. “We are honored and humbled by this achievement, which illustrates our corporate philosophy and guides us in all of our efforts.”

The Renaissance Providence Hotel was selected as the best performer out of all hotels in the Marriott portfolio of franchised Renaissance properties. The hotel achieved top status across two criteria categories – overall customer satisfaction and most improved market share. The Renaissance Providence Hotel, which opened in May of 2007, is managed by Sage Hospitality Resources, a leading hotel management and development company in North America.

The award is just one of many accolades the hotel has received since its opening two years ago. In 2008, the Renaissance Providence Hotel was named to the Conde Nast “Hot List,” pegging the hottest new hotels in the world. More recently, AAA awarded the hotel its Four Diamond Award, North America’s premier hotel rating, which recognizes hotels and helps travelers make informed decisions based on strict quality guidelines.

The Hotel of the Year Award was presented at the annual Marriott awards ceremony held by the North American Lodging Operations & Global Brand Management (NALO) board.

“We are extremely flattered to receive such a distinguished award,” said Stephen Nass, director of Sales and Marketing at the Renaissance Providence Hotel. “This recognition truly highlights the exemplary experience we offer our guests as the luxury hotel of choice in downtown Providence.”

The Renaissance Providence Hotel, a once-abandoned, incomplete Masonic Temple, has been meticulously restored to offer patrons a truly unique and artistic lodging experience. The hotel features 272 guest rooms and more than 10,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel also features Temple Downtown Restaurant and Lounge, an energized bistro atmosphere that presents innovative dishes and specialty cocktails influenced by local regional flavors.
