Partial Proceeds Will Benefit The Seaman'S Church Institute

The 35th Annual Newport Spring Boat Show will once again be presenting a complete selection of boats and boating products when it runs for three days, May 15 - 17th, at the Newport Yachting Center in Newport, Rhode Island.

The 35th Annual Newport Spring Boat Show will once again be presenting a complete selection of boats and boating products when it runs for three days, May 15 - 17th, at the Newport Yachting Center in Newport, Rhode Island. Nancy Piffard, Show Director stated, "In addition to all the boats and equipment we normally display at the Show we will be having the "Marine Consignment Tent" again this year.

Last year was our first year and it was very well received. We invite our exhibitors as well as the general public to sell their marine related items that would otherwise go unused. We are asking them to clean out their warehouses, garages, basements and storage sheds of any used or "scratch n' dent" items that are in good working condition, put a price on it, tag it with your name/company name and drop it off at the Newport Yachting Center starting Monday, May 11th through Thursday May 14th between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM (our staff will do the selling).

It's better than a yard sale, plus it will help a wonderful organization.the Seaman's Church Institute. If the consignment item sells, the owner will then receive 60% of the sale and partial proceeds will go to the Seaman's Church Institute. We are giving people/companies a chance to

make some money on boating items that would otherwise sit idle." All unsold

items may be picked up on Sunday, May 17th at 5PM or Monday between

8AM and 5PM. Any unclaimed item will be donated to a worthy cause.

Seamen's is truly an organization of "people helping people". Founded in 1919 by a group of Newport Residents who saw a need to provide services and assistance to servicemen and those who worked and traveled the sea, the Seamen's Church Institute moved to its existing location in January 1930. Located in the heart of the harbor district at 18 Market Square, the Seamen's Church Institute has been a haven for Seafarers and a vital resource on the waterfront The Institute provides services and support to those working on the waterfront, as well as visiting and local yachtsmen.
