Passengers will travel from Cumberland, RI along the John H. Chafee Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor, birthplace of America's Industrial Revolution. Take in scenic vistas along the Blackstone River and Canal, while seeing a unified working landscape of early mill villages, commercial centers, farms, rural open space and transportation networks spanning two dozen Rhode Island and Massachusetts communities. The train then treks to Putnam, CT through the Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor, known for being “the last green valley” of natural expanse in the busy Northeastern US between Boston, MA and Washington, DC. For the most part, this region has retained its charming rural character and quality of life over the last 200 years, despite the growth of social and industrial development. See lush forests, picturesque farms, charming small villages and quaint Southern New England landmarks. Because these train excursions sell out quickly, residents and visitors are strongly reminded to make their ticket reservations NOW to ensure their seats. Once reservations are made passengers will be sent their tickets along with directions to the rail tours, boarding and parking information. DUE TO THE HIGH DEMAND FOR TICKETS, THERE ARE NO EXCHANGES OR REFUNDS ALLOWED FOR ALL TRAIN TOURS. Tickets are available at www.tourblackstone.com or send a check to Blackstone Valley Scenic Railway Tours, 175 Main St., Pawtucket, RI 02860.
