Offered during the spring term, the course is for individuals interested in developing careers as food writers, cookbook authors and restaurant reviewers. Students in this 11-week course will write personal essays about food, biographies of chefs, restaurant reviews and cookbook proposals. Newspaper food sections will be analyzed, and the correct way to write recipes will be taught. This writing-intensive class is for students interested in writing about food in cookbooks, food magazines, newspaper food sections and on the Internet. In addition, noted food writers and editors, restaurant critics and cookbook authors will be guest speakers. The course, which carries 4.5 quarter hours of credit, will be taught on Monday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. starting in March. The first class will be held on Friday, March 11.
