Applicants Sought For Knauss Fellowships

The Dean John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship offers qualified graduate students the chance to spend a year in Washington, D.C., working in Congress or the executive branch on critical marine policy and resource management issues.

Approximately 30 individuals are selected nationally. The Knauss Fellowship provides a stipend and living expense allowance totaling $40,000. The one-year fellowship begins February 1, 2006.

Each year, Rhode Island Sea Grant nominates up to five students to the National Sea Grant College Program for Knauss Fellowships. Nominees must be studying for a master's, doctoral, or professional degree in a marine-related field.

Fellowship applications are due at Rhode Island Sea Grant on Tuesday, February 15, 2005. For more information, visit http://seagrant.gso.uri.edu/news/index.html#Knauss.
