To the casual observer, country clubs may seem to exist solely for golf, but there's a lot more to country clubs. Most have pretty decent restaurants that, while small, tend to feel crisp and polished. They almost always have bars for relaxing after a game -- bars that are brighter and less smoke-filled than its in-town counterparts. Many country clubs also have swimming pools, tennis courts, and other aminities that make stopping there worthwile, even if you don't golf.
