May 5: Cinco de Mayo and Kentucky Derby Events

Gracie’s is offering up not just one, but two great events on May 5. Gracie’s will partner with InDowncity Providence and their neighbors for the second annual Cinco de Mayo Block Party! From 4 to 8 p.m., Westminster Street, between Eddy and Union Street, will be closed to cars and filled with performers, food and fun. Gracie’s, as well as other local restaurants, will be offering Mexican-inspired food and drinks likely to turn the block party into a lively fiesta. Music will be provided by Brown University’s Mariachi de Brown from 4 to 5 p.m. and DJ Studebaker Hawk from 5 to 8 p.m.

For those needing a break from the block party, race on over to Gracie’s to watch the most exciting two minutes in sports: the Kentucky Derby! From 5 to 7 p.m., Gracie’s will be serving delicious mint juleps and holding a contest for the most elaborate Derby hat. Place your bets on Gracie’s as the spot to watch the Derby in style!

May 13: Mother’s Day Brunch
Say ‘thank you’ to the special mothers in your life this Mother’s Day by treating them to brunch at Gracie’s. Chef Matthew Varga and the Gracie’s team have designed a menu to please all palates. Guests will be able to enjoy specialty cocktails and an interactive station set-up, so they can mix and match their own Mother’s Day meal.

Brunch offerings will include: Belgium Waffles with Vermont maple syrup, berry compote and chantel cream; assorted breads, scones, muffins, biscuits, cinnamon buns and sourdough doughnuts; quiche with spinach, onion and gruyere; fruit salad; bacon and breakfast sausage; ‘Create your own’ omelet station; chicken pizzaola; mixed greens salad; minestrone soup; Atlantic salmon with local spinach and sweet onion cream; prime rib and roasted turkey break carving station; and assorted juices.

“We know how hard mothers work day-in and day-out,” said Ellen Gracyalny, owner of Gracie’s and a mother herself. “Our brunch offers a great start to Mother’s Day and shows moms of all ages how much they are appreciated.”

Gracie’s will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mother’s Day. Adults can dine for $65 and children under 12 for $25. Reservations are required.

Special Sunday Hours in May
Although Gracie’s is typically closed on Sundays, the restaurant will be open for graduation celebrations and other spring celebratory events on May 20 and 27. Reservations are going quickly. Gracie’s recommends calling soon to secure a spot for any of its May openings.
