By Ziomara Hernandez, Your Nightlife Angel
Seminars, conferences, and meetings can often drag an 8-hour workday into an eternity filled with tedium. Thankfully, Providence has an explosive nightlife that will make you eager to go anywhere but home. Remember, summer is here and Providence nightlife is brewing. If you can't decide what to do, or where to go, then behold the angel of nightlife has come forth to show you the way!
Hot Club – Don't let the name fool you; the Hot Club is not a club. If rather than a quiet night
away from the crowds, you are looking for a bit more excitement that comes with an ice-cold
beer. Then picture this: a jukebox with the best of new and old, a bar with outrageous bartenders,
and a waterside patio with tables and people. The Hot Club is the best bar to hang out at, get
some finger foods, a cool Corona, and meet the most interesting people. This is definitely the
melting pot of Providence. You have top execs for an after-work drink mingling with Harley
Davidson riding motorcycle fanatics. Definitely a crowd pleaser. (Hint: To the left of Grappas!)
The Fish Company – Tricky name! I actually thought this was a restaurant, but don't let it
deceive you, this is an all out club. The inside bar sits next to the dance floor, and the
outside bar has a very casual and friendly lounge area. So, if you're in the mood for a euphoric
college crowd then this is the place to be. This top spot is great to meet new people, and hang
with old friends. The terrific waterfront view will take your breath away and the popular jukebox
will keep you hopping all night long to the best tunes. Open seven days a week, you can
always find something to do: Monday night football, Wednesday night live music, or Thursday
night $1 Coronas. (Hint: To the right of Grappas! How convenient is that!)
Mediterraneo Restaurant – How about a little bit of merengue and salsa to add some spice to you life?
This restaurant by day, and dance club by night is the perfect setting for a night out of good food and
great dancing. When the sun is out, they have the most serene atmosphere, alfresco dining, valet
parking, and superb service. But, once the sun sets, the second floor opens its doors for some classy
Latin and International music. The floor is perfect. The size is perfect. The atmosphere is perfect.
Small enough to not get lost in the crowds, but big enough to have plenty of elbowroom to do those
tricky salsa turns! You can be guaranteed a night of Living La Vida Loca.
Complex Nightclub – The smorgasbord of clubs. This club is surreal. Walking from room to room is
like walking through a portal from one dimension to another. Each room with its own ambiance and
attitude! From 70's to 80's, hip-hop to rock, you can't beat it; one club, one cover charge, one trip.
It can't get better than that. They have Polly Estas equipped with their own fully lit dance floor for
those that have that Saturday Night Fever, Algiers for hip-hop lovers, rock music at Uranus, or
pop-and-lock with some house music at Liquid. Who said life can't be perfect?
Okay, you are now armed with the necessities of a night out in Providence. You have the perfect
pre-night and all-night on the town bars and the hit-it-hard nightclubs. And for those that have
energy to spare, we have the all hours, after-hour dance to you drop nightclub!
Club Pulse – This is an unrelenting techno dance club with pool tables, two dance floors, and platforms.
They don't know the meaning of rest, tranquility, or sleep. Especially with there after-hours rave that
starts at 6am and runs straight to 12pm. This place is the serious party place for the serious party animal.
Do you dare?
Remember that life is short. Forget about the seminars and conferences. Leave that
to the day. Keep your nights for living, and let Providence lead the way. Your angel of nightlife has
spoken and has brought you to the light. Come forth, and enjoy what Providence has to offer!
