The clouds in heaven have parted and I have had a vision, Olive's Restaurant/Nightclub is the "In" place, the cool place, the "IT" place. What can I say? It exudes excitement with its epitomizing of Dr. Jekell and Mr. Hide.

Google
By day, this mild mannered restaurant is calm and collective with its 1940's atmosphere and jazz scene that brings a calm serenity to the closing of your day, with their full bar and endless assortment of famous martini's and gourmet hamburgers to tickle your taste buds. The great atmosphere, cozy booths, and friendly staff will result in Olive's becoming more of an obsession if anything! But be sure to get there early if you want your own booth, because once the night hits, they're as hard to find as a parking space in Downtown Providence!

It is simply amazing, the mood changes right before your eyes. Mild mannered Mr. Hide is out the window, and strutting through the door is cool, suave, and debonair Dr. Jekell. People start coming in with their best duds and buds to party the night away. Be prepared because the place gets a wee-bit crowded. Who am I kidding? People are like sardines. But trust me, very much worth it. The music and laughing help you forget about the invasion on your personal space, and you start talking to people and joking and making new friends.

Food good! People great! Dancing? Well, be prepared. You have to ask yourself where the dance floor is because if you turn to quickly you may miss it. The dance floor is a small space in front of the band that makes you feel like you're an extra for Lionel Richie's "Dancing on the ceiling" because, in all honesty, that is the only free spot to dance!

But, don't worry; as the night moves on, the whole place turns into one giant dance floor. People start to dance in the hall, on the way to the bathroom, next to the bar, at their seats, (A word of caution, don't try ON your seats, they don't like that!), so, basically everywhere and anywhere is game.

The weekends are not complete if you don't have the energy that comes with live entertainment, and Olives has it. Thursday to Sunday the places shakes with the most talented that Providence has to offer stationed in the front for everyone to enjoy. So, if you're sitting at home wondering where to go, the wait is over. You need to head out to North Main street and party!
