Central Falls, Rhode Island

Central Falls, RI

Central Falls is a tiny community just north of Providence, sitting on the Blackstone River. It's densly populated neighborhoods blend with the surrounding towns, so it's difficult to tell when you're there. It is industrial and has a population of about 19,000.

To find Central Falls most directly, take Exit 26 from I-95 and head north on 122 (Lonsdale Avenue). About half a mile from I-95 is the beginning of this tiny town. Or, at the risk of missing turns in Pawtucket but with the advantage of seeing some interesting sights along the way, take Exit 28 from I-95, north on 114 (Broad Street). In less than a mile, soon after crossing the railroad tracks, you're in Central Falls. If you go another mile, you've left Central Falls.

Just south Central Falls on 114 is Slater Mill and the Blackstone Valley visitor's center.
