Big Nazo’s Erminino Pinque to Speak

The “Art Speaks Lecture Series” is an ongoing presentation of local artists of note at Roots Cultural Center, 274 Westminster Street, Providence. Artists take the platform and discuss their work and the process involved. The next event will be on January 26, 7:30 pm to 9 pm with nationally acclaimed artist Erminio Pinque, founder & director of BIG NAZO LAB. The public is invited to this free event.

BIG NAZO is the larger-than-life-sized, audience-interactive, international creature troupe based in Downtown Providence, RI that employs a variety of puppet, mask and wearable sculpture techniques to create mobile spectacles and alien configurations.

Erminio and the BIG NAZO staff have constructed and animated original characters for countless stage productions, parades, TV projects, and festive extravaganzas throughout the US and overseas, stretching as far and wide as Singapore, Scotland, Indonesia, Portugal, Japan, Canada, Italy and Holland.

Erminio is part-time faculty at Rhode Island School of Design Film/Video Department where he teaches a course in CREATURE-CREATION and conducts mask-making workshops throughout New England & the US.
