The Wood River is dammed in many locations, but the Wyoming Dam, managed by the RI DEM, is highly accessible and picturesque. The lake is stocked and has a small boat ramp. Some of the mill run is still functioning and a bridge crosses the river just below the dam, offering excellent views of rushing water.
To find the dam, exit 3B and head west on 138 about half a mile. The entrance to a small park will be on the right, just past the intersection with Route 3.
Local dining includes the Wood River Inn.
