Hopkinton is largely rural, containing the villages of Hope Valley, Rockville, Canonchet, Barberville, Bethel, Brudickville, Ashaway, Hopkington, and South Hopkington. Of these, Ashaway and Hope Valley are the most developed. The population of Hopkinton is 8000.
In addition to the town's numerous other lakes and rivers, of special note is the Wyoming Pond on the Wood River. This pond lies on the border betwen Hopkinton and Richmond. It's worth seeing because the dam and pond is so accessible to casual travelers. Outdoorsmen, though, may prefer the Black Farm Wildlife Management Area or th Rockville Wildlife Management Area, though neither have public boat ramps on their ponds.
The area is easily accessible by exits 1, 2, and 3 off of I-95.
The town's website can be found at www.hopkintonri.com
This list is constantly growing, thanks to suggestions from our readers.
