Rhode Island Roads seeks travel articles, fiction, poetry, and other content of interest to Rhode Islanders and those who love Rhode Island. Reprints are acceptable. RI Roads seeks the right for non-exclusive online text publication on the RI Roads website and in promotional materials.

• Articles should be written in an evergreen manner, that is, in a manner that will not be invalidated by time. Rhode Island festivals, events, culture, and geography are all fair game. The length can be between 500 and 2000 words, with a target of 1000.

• Poetry and fiction should be tied closely to Rhode Island. Seasonal poetry and stories about Rhode Island are even better.

• Humor columns are usually written by our managing editor, so you have to convince him that you're funnier than he is. Give it a try if you want.

• Restaurant Reviews and other entertainment reviews are also sought, but please submit several articles at once. This is because the reader must be able to identify with the reviewer over time.

• Other content will be considered if it fulfills our basic purpose of satisfying Rhode Islanders. If you are a cartoonist or you create crossword puzzles or if you have some other Rhode Island-based idea, we're open to pitches.

Articles should be send via e-mail in the text of the e-mail (no .DOC or .PDF attachments, please). Basic photos should be 300 pixels wide by 200 pixels high in JPEG format.
