Rhode Island Roads offers a variety of ways to promote your Rhode Island business for free (or almost free). The basic requirement is that the business be Rhode Island.

Free directory listings

We provide our readers with a huge database of Rhode Island businesses. If your business is related to Rhode Island travel, tourism, hospitality, shopping, education, sports, movies, entertainment, transprotation... well, almost anything related to Rhode Island, we have a free spot waiting for you in our directory. Free listings appear as a simple line of text that connects to a second page with your basic contact information. Directory listings appear in the city guide for the appropriate city or town and also in the directory under the business category. At the present time, any subscriber can add listings.

Enhanced directory listings

If your website links back to ours, please let us know. We'll put your free directory listing in bold and include your brief description on the category and city pages. This doesn't stand out as well as the premium ads, but it's free.

Another way to get nicer directory listings

If your organization is a charitable nonprofit, we will be happy to give you a free enhanced directory listing, even if you don't link to us. And if you DO link to us, we'll upgrade your ad to PREMIUM, which includes a photo, preferred placement, and lots of nice things that make it stand out.

News Items

We are happy to accept news items of interest to our readers. We even have an easy-to-use form that lets our readers enter news items whenever they want. If your organization has news, we want to know.

Events Calendar

We are also interested in your events, as long as they are in Rhode Island and open to the public. Just like the news items and free links, you can add your events to the calendar. One of the neat things is that your events will appear on the events calendar, on the front page on the day of the event, in the article section head appropritate to the event, in the city guide that the event occurs in, and also on the page where your directory listing resides.

Press Invites

While we can't promise to make every event or interview every Rhode Islander, we are much more likely to visit your business or organization and write about it if we have an invitation. If it will interest our readers and our editorial staff thinks it will fit in their schedule, we'll be glad to vist with you.

Write Articles and Reviews

Sometimes you have someone in your organization who can write an interesting article. We'll be glad to consider it for publication. We might have to edit it, but we're always looking for new voices and fresh views of the Ocean State. This advertising isn't just free, we pay YOU for the privilage.

Barter

We are happy to barter unsold advertising space for your excess goods and services. We are also a member of the BarterBing barter network, so if you have goods and services that we can't make use of directly, we can trade it through the network for something that we do want.

Corporate Sponsorship

We also sponsor events and provide lots of free advertising for good causes. Tell us your cause and we might want to sponsor it.
