A Li’l Sweetness Goes a Long Way

Tasting Hey Shuga! sweetener

I have been a coffee connoisseur for as long as I can remember. I start my day with a steamy hot cup of coffee. Then the afternoon pick me up to get me through the rest of the day. And, sometimes, I will have a cup of coffee at night, sit back and watch a movie with my family or just veg out and do nothing.

Lately, I have been wanting a sweet touch to my coffee. I have been buying some lattes with pumpkin syrup, or a caramel latte with syrup of plain coffee with different flavorings. I’m not crazy about adding sugar to my coffee on a daily basis, by occasionally isn’t that bad.

There is a new product on the market that will allow me to add a touch of sweetness to my coffee or tea and not be overwhelmed with the sugary taste of sugar. It is called Hey Shuga and it is made from Organic Invert Cane Sugar, Stevia and water. That’s it! No artificial sweeteners, no preservatives; just plain ol’ cane sugar and water.

I added a quarter of a teaspoon to my coffee and that was more than enough. I tend to have my coffee just the way it is. I was expecting the Hey Shuga sweetener to overpower the taste of the coffee but it didn’t! There wasn’t that sugary, granular taste that I associate with regular sugar. I probably could have even added less and still get the sweetness taste in the coffee.

Hey Shuga is a lot healthier to use than normal table sugar. Stevia, the main ingredient in Hey Shuga, has a slower onset and longer duration than that of sugar. Because Stevia has a negative effect on blood glucose, it is very attractive to use as a natural sweetener, especially to people that are on low carbohydrate and low sugar diets.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that wants to sweeten up his life a little. It is small enough to carry in your handbag (I would suggest placing wrap around the bottles because it can get sticky), can be used multiple times and not add any more waste to our environment and it is not that expensive; only $9.99 for an 8.5 oz bottle. Please visit their website at: www.heyshuga.com for more information and where to purchase.

Nothing wrong with a little ‘shuga’ in our lives so try it!
